100% of all donations received go to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter. We do not use paid canvasers to help raise money for the shelter. It has come to our attention that there are canvassers out there collecting money for animals shelters, but they take an average of 60%+ of your donation. When approached, always inquire as to whether all of the money reaches the actual charity collected for.

Charities do a great deal of good and are an intrinsic part of our society. They attend to the needy in our communities and somehow manage to continue in spite of almost insurmountable odds. Sometimes a recession or even natural disasters make a charities tasks even more challenging. Such is the case with the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter; it receives no government funding and its fiscal solvency is entirely dependant on the goodwill of the animal lovers in and around Winnipeg. Notwithstanding high local unemployment rates and the ever present demand for charity assistance elsewhere, the needs of our innocent pets continue. They still require accomodation, vet care, food, etc. all of which costs money. They still need tender loving care and arrangement of adoptions to loving homes to give them just a chance for a safe and quality life. Readers are respectfully asked to view the above prospective with a view to remembering the urgent needs of our otherwise helpless animals. Please consider making a donation today. Thank you

A HUGE THANK YOU TO COUNCILLOR GRANT NORDMAN for helping the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter acquire a grant to do a wall mural depicting the work of the Shelter. The mural will be on the west-facing outside wall of the Shelter and work should be starting soon! CELL PHONE RECYCLING PROGRAM Bring your old cell phones in to the Winipeg Pet Rescue Shelter to help support the many animals waiting for adoption. The Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter has joined the Charitable Recycling Program of Canada www.charitablerecyclling.ca In working condition or not, it doesn't matter, for every cell phone shipped to the Recycling Program, our Shelter will receive a small monetary donation. Collect family and friends old cell phones and drop them off at the Shelter at 3062 Portage Avenue.

DOG AND CAT FOOD DONATIONS Due to our expansion of dog rooms and lack of storage space, the Shelter will no longer be able to accept donations of dry dog or cat food. The Shelter is in desperate need of donations of canned cat & kitten food. Please drop off today.

Hi! My name is Angel, I am 6 yrs old and as you can see I am beautiful. I have been at the shelter for almost a year now and I just can't understand why. I am quite a lovable girl, purring and following you around for attention. I can be self assured, preferring to do what I like and when I like. But trust me I am not difficult at all just slightly opinionated at times. If you have cozy, one pet home for this perfect girl please come down to the shelter today. 
Hello, My name is Maxx, spelled with two xx's, just so you know. I am different looking so I have to spell my name different. I am 2 years old and quite playful. I came into the Shelter because the other male dog and I were arguing over the pretty female dog that came to live with us. Women!!!! I get along fabulously with people and love to romp around. I am sure I could get used to other animals if I were only given the chance. Or if you would prefer to have an only dogchild like me, that would be okay too. I am really healthy and housebroken. Bonus!!! Please consider adopting me today.
