Name: Clover & Indigo
Clover and Indigo, formerly named Athena and Brooks, were among the longest residents at Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter. Now happily adopted into a loving home, here’s what their new fur parent has to say: “They have settled in quite well! Clover is still a little shy if too much is going on, but she really likes when everyone is relaxing on the couch. Indigo is quite the explorer, and has already become my little shadow. They’ve both enjoyed wrestling each other, and us. They are eating very well, drinking lots of water, and seem to be in good spirits! I am so grateful to have them in my life, even if they’re a bit of handful sometimes! I’m so excited to see them grow and get more confident, and to spend many years with these lovely little ones.”
Name: Leon
“We fostered then adopted Leon last July and he just celebrated his 1st birthday! Every day since he joined our family he’s kept us on our toes, reminded us to enjoy nature and to live in the moment. He loves people watching, water (lakes, puddles, pools, he’s not picky), his cat brother and going to bed at 8pm sharp. He’s a very smart boy and he loves to learn! We cannot wait for the summer to take him camping, try new activities and to enjoy our backyard together. Thank you to everyone at WPR for bringing us together! We love him so so much.”
Name: George & Arkie
“Can’t believe that it’s two years since we brought George and Arkie home! George is more outgoing and the loudest – he is very persistent and has no problem letting you know what he wants! Arkie is quite skittish – she LOVES to be brushed and has the loudest purr. We don’t need an alarm clock to know that it’s 5am and breakfast time! They both love treats and belly rubs and have their favorite spots to nap. Adopting them together was a great choice – they entertain and torment each other and have added so much to our household!”
Name: Hudson
Hudson’s new owner stated that although Hudson was with Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter for almost year, and after being rehabilitated from a broken back right leg, he is doing very well. “He is now 9 yrs YOUNG, full of puppy energy, endless hours walking, hiking, and playing together.”
Name: Maeve
“Maeve is doing so great and we love her so much. She loves walks on the trail near our house, meeting and playing with other fur friends, and going on car rides! She is a regular at our neighbourhood coffee shop where she gets a lot of attention and pets! She is the sweetest girl and will always snuggle up on the couch with you whenever she gets the chance!”
Name: River
“In honor of River’s 4TH Birthday today we wanted to send an update: River was part of the litter with Forest, Ladybug. Sunny. and Breeze we adopted her Feb. 2022 and kept her name River. She is a funny playful and super smart girl, loves other dogs and takes her time to warm up to new people but her family are her #1. She loves belly rubs, playing with her toys and going for truck rides and cuddles- she is a giant lap dog. Despite her name she hates water and baths . Thank you!”
Name: Basmati
“Basmati update. I mostly call him Bazzi or Mr. Boy – he knows his names quite well. He LOVES cuddles and has the loudest purrs. He sleeps with me almost every night. He has a food obsession so we can’t free-feed anymore because of him lol. He is very vocal when it comes to food and also purrs really loud while he’s eating. He likes to sit on the window sill, lay on a heated bean bag, lay on top of the counter where the dishwasher is when it’s on because it’s warm and likes to be tucked in under the blanket!”
